The projects included treating a number of damaged locations through scraping and re-asphalting on the Sharurah / Riyadh road and the Najran / Al-Sulayyil road. They also included addressing flood damage on the (Al-Dabt / Al-Mishal) road, Al-Bayad road, Al-Mashannah road, Al-Harshaf road, and the (Al-Jazm / Al-Hankan) road, as well as treating rockfalls on the (Najran / Khamis Mushait) road. Additionally, the projects involved radical maintenance for some roads, bridges, and asphalt speed bumps, and reinforcing safety elements on the roads of the region and the Sharurah governorate.
The projects also encompassed raising the infrastructure standard of roads and bridges and completing the fencing on the Najran / Al-Sulayyil road to maintain the safety of road users, alongside raising the level of quality and efficiency of the Yadmah / Riyadh road, the Zabin / Al-Harshaf road, and the Bir Askar / Al-Naqaa road.
His Highness emphasized that these projects reflect the generous support and great attention given by the wise leadership to the growth and development of all regions of the Kingdom, in achieving Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to improve the quality of life and enhance sustainable development. He praised the distinguished services provided by the transport and logistics ecosystem, which contribute to enhancing comprehensive development across various regions of the Kingdom.
For his part, His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services explained that these projects come as an extension of the great support given by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince—may Allah protect them—to the developmental and service projects of the transport and logistics ecosystem in various regions of the Kingdom. He pointed out that the road projects inaugurated today will contribute to supporting the road network enjoyed by the Najran region and easing mobility in the area according to the highest safety and quality specifications and the standards of the Saudi Road Code. He affirmed that the transport and logistics ecosystem will continue its developmental projects to enhance connectivity between cities, governorates, and centers, and to ease the movement of individuals and goods between the Kingdom's regions, thereby enhancing the quality of life and achieving the ambitious goals of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services.
