Al-Jasser: Riyadh Expo 2030 Will Strengthen Transport and Logistics

Al-Jasser: Riyadh Expo 2030 Will Strengthen Transport and Logistics

His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, affirmed that the Kingdom's successful bid, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may Allah protect them, to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh reflects Saudi Arabia's prominent standing in international forums and the world's confidence in the Kingdom's ability to organize this major global event. In remarks to the Saudi Press Agency, His Excellency said the Kingdom has a high level of readiness and advanced transport and logistics infrastructure. Supported by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the transport and logistics ecosystem has advanced significantly across several international indicators in recent months. Saudi Arabia climbed 14 places in the IATA Air Connectivity Index to rank 13th globally, placing it among the world's fastest-growing countries in aviation connectivity. The Kingdom also ranks first globally in road-network connectivity. His Excellency noted that five public bus transport projects had recently been launched to facilitate mobility within cities. Intercity passenger bus services were also developed and launched to connect 200 cities and governorates. The Minister explained that hosting Expo 2030 will contribute to gross domestic product through the substantial economic activity generated across air, sea, and land transport, the growth of logistics operations, and the broader expansion of other sectors throughout the six-month event. Riyadh Expo 2030 will support the transport and logistics sector and boost mobility and investment across the Kingdom and the wider region by increasing passenger and cargo movements and raising air-traffic volumes. The event will also create greater opportunities for investors and contractors. The Expo site will serve as a global platform for companies seeking investment opportunities in the Kingdom, whether in transport and logistics or other infrastructure projects. Al-Jasser described Saudi Arabia's successful Expo 2030 bid as an exceptional opportunity to showcase the Kingdom's identity and the ambitious transformation projects arising from Saudi Vision 2030, sharing with the world the Kingdom's journey toward a bright future under the continued support and guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.
