Transport Minister
Dr. Nabil bin Mohammed Al-Amoudi said that the privatization program that adopted
by Economic and Development Affairs Council Chaired by the Royal Highness
Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of Defense represents a paradigm shift to improve
the transport sector quality. Also, to raise the services level and quality
through the modern managing infrastructure projects method through the
partnership with the private sector in transport projects.
HE added that
the privatization program sustainability will achieve a fair trading and a
business approach that attract investors with the private sector and this is
the most important program pillars. The ports transfer to companies and
privatization some of the services in the transport sector and this will
improve operational and logistical efficiency. Also providing more jobs
opportunities and additional income for the national economy.
HE also pointed
out that the privatization plan will make the Ministry focus on the transport
sector entities regulatory and supervision roles. HE explained the
privatization program on the transfer the ports to companies and reduce the
waiting time of shipments will have a significant impact to raise the market
value of these ports by 2030.
His Excellency
stressed that the Ministry and all the transport sector entities ready to work
on the plan, by improving transport system in the Kingdom to activate the
private sector in the transport system projects, and this what makes the
Kingdom becomes a global logistics hub and strengthen the sustainable economic
and social development.
