Riyadh: The Ministry of Transport posted the total number of trips on the
Kingdom's roads during February 2018 which was 46 million trips, with an
average of 500.000 trips per week.
The report shows the effective
traffic monitoring devices, measuring the peak times, and the average of the speed
and exceed the speed limit.
According to the report, the
Ministry activate 200 Traffic Monitoring Units and at the end of February 2018
will increase by 132.5% compared to last February 2017.
Jeddah-Makkah (Al-Harmain) road the highest traffic in the Kingdom.
The Jeddah-Makkah (Al Haramain)
road recorded the highest average daily traffic. Were register more than 90,000
cars during February that reduce to 4.25% from January 2018. While the truck
traffic raises more than 7,700 trucks by 10% in January 2018.
On the other hand, the
Makkah-Jeddah road is the heaviest in traffic were register more than 89,000
cars and more than 6,000 trucks, an increase of 2.5% over last January.
On Makkah traffic during February,
the report stated that 43,700 vehicles entered the city from Jeddah
Road, 18,100 vehicles from Al-Sail road, 22,000 from Madinah road and 18,000
vehicles from Taif road.
The peak hour of the day is noon on
Jeddah road and Al-Sail road, while the peak hour on Taif and Medina roads start
at seven and eight AM. During the night start at 5 PM for Jeddah and Taif roads,
6 PM on Medina road and 7 PM on Al-Sail road.

The number of vehicles for Al
Janadriyah festival visitors exceeded 1.2 million, on the MOT roads.
On Tuesday the day before the last
day recorded the highest number of visitor's vehicles, which amounted to 69.501
vehicles. The weekend was the highest density of vehicles, while the daily
average about 60,000 vehicles. Khurais-Janadriyah road was the highest traffic
followed by Ath Thumamah then Muhammad Ibn Farj road.

The report pointed out that 91,000 vehicles enter Riyadh from
Al-Qassim at a daily rate, more than 65,000 from Jeddah, 48,500 from Al-Kharj
and 46,700 from Janadriya.
The peak hour of the day is noon on
Al-Qassim and Janadriya road, while 6 AM on Jeddah and 9 AM on Janadriya.
During the night 3 PM on Al-Kharj, 4 PM on Jeddah, 6 PM on Janadriya and 8 PM
Al-Qassim road.
The cars in Riyadh - Bishah road
and the trucks in Wadi ad-Dawasir - Riyadh road is the highest in exceeding the
speed limit.
The monthly report stated that the
speed of cars exceeded 140 km / h, were crossing
Riyadh - Bishah road by 45% and
Howta – Al Aflaj by 41%, then Al-Slail - Riyadh road by 40%.
The trucks exceeded 100 km / h, was
crossing Wadi ad-Dawasir - Riyadh road by 92%, Najran - Wadi ad-Dawasir by 66%,
As Sadawi - Ar Rafiea road and Al- Madinah - Al Ula by 59% for both.
The report showed the most exceed
speed limit was in the dual carriageway and single carriageway that lead to
fatal accidents because the high-speed and the stray camel.

road was the highest trips by 2,7 million followed Dhahran- Al
Jubail road by 1,5 million.
