Dr. Al – Amudi: Dammam ring road to be completed soon .. and no tolerance with the defaulters

 

The Minister of Transport, HE Dr. Nabil bin Mohammed Al-Amoudi, inspected the projects currently implemented and maintained in the Eastern Region, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Roads Mr. Majid bin Rafid Al-Arqobi, the Director General of the Ministry's branch in the region Mr. Ahmed Al-Ghamdi and number of the ministry's officials.


The Minister of Transport started his inspection tour, thanking His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Region for the continuous personal follow-up of the region's projects. HE then viewed a detailed presentation of the 2233 km projects implemented in the Eastern Province. The projects cover; highways, double and single roads, agricultural roads, including the last stage of the border port road leading to the Sultanate of Oman.




The tour also included the following projects: the double road between Qatif - Awamiya - Safwi, the Half Moon Road Project, the road linking the Buqaiq Highway to Dhahran Road - Aqir - Salwa.

The Minister of Transport and his companions went to Al-Ahssa governorate trough Al-Aqeer - Half Moon Beach road where they attended a briefing session with a presentation about the ongoing projects. The minister gave his directions to follow them up, giving priority to Al- Hassa ring road.




At the end of the tour, Dr. Al-Amoudi confirmed that Dammam ring road project is on top of his list and the delay is due to the failure of the previous contractor. He added that the project will have a new contractor soon, pointing out that the ministry will not compromise with the contractors or the consultants and these issues will be dealt with firmly to serve the public interest.
