Vice minister of transport: We are looking forward to benefit from the international experience

 

With the participation of specialists and experts from all over the world, the first International Road Federation for the Middle East and North Africa Conference and Exhibition was launched today in Dubai. The event was held for the first time in the region under the slogan (Solutions for Better Roadways in the 21st Century) with the presence of the vice minister of transport Mr. Saad Al Khaleb.
The conference includes more than 100 working papers, 200 speakers, and 50 sessions, discussing the various areas of innovations in smart cities, road safety designs, intelligent transportation systems, asset and platform management, partnerships and finance, environmental and sustainability issues and 70 exhibitors on 3000 Sqm.
Eng. Saad Al-Khaleb said that the Ministry of Transport is interested in getting acquainted with the latest experiences and methods related to the concept of intelligent transportation. He pointed out that the expansion of intelligent transport systems application on roads and vehicles of all kinds is a concern of the ministry's leadership. Some systems have been launched in 3050 km roads in all the regions of the kingdom, and there is an ongoing work to improve and raise the quality of these roads permanently.
IRF is a non-profit international organization established since 1948 and located in Washington and supported by a network of regional offices around the world. The International Road Federation (IRF) serves a network of members from the public and private sectors in more than 115 countries.
The International Road Federation works with the public and private sectors to identify the latest technological and scientific developments related to the developing modern road networks, land transport systems, road traffic control and promote road safety. Also, support economic and environmental projects and programs to improve and expand road networks, provide educational and training programs related to the development and maintenance of road and land transport networks, cooperation and exchange of experiences with international institutions. Along with promoting existing national and regional road committees, economic and other relevant, related to the improvement of systems and roads standards to be a global platform to exchange the international standards solutions.
